The Life

Recently I have heard several disturbing stories about intolerance towards gays, and while being gay isn't every one's cup of tea - it's something that isn't new, it exists and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. There are so many liberties that people take for granted here and while I still get stared down sometimes and the obligatory derogatory slur, I live relatively comfortably compared to some of my brothers and sisters in other parts of the world.
People still get beaten to death and being homosexual is a punishable act in some countries with a sentencing of lashes, prison sentencing or even death. It is a sad situation when young kids kill themselves rather than be tormented by constant scrutiny and ridicule, I wonder why with everything in the world people still judge others rather than try to understand and even learn about what it's like for someone else, being gay is not contagious. I pray that things will get better, since there are so many other pressing issues at hand.
