Kylie/ Recording songs with Xenomania! (Admin of VipMedia)

Kylie Minogue is apparently collaborating with Xenomania, the writing duo behind Girls Aloud's string of hits. The girl band have racked up 20 consecutive top ten singles with the help of producers Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper, known as Xenomania, and now Kylie is hoping they can work their magic on her new album, according to the Sun.

Kylie and Xenomania worked on her 2005 single Giving You Up, which got to No 6 in the charts and she is now hoping they can help her produce a triumphant come-back album to follow up her last record X.

When Love Takes Over Video

Kelly Rowland

The stellar new single featuring Kelly Rowland has been out for a little while and recently I had the opportunity to hear it and I was really happy when I did I love it. I'm happy that she has left her former management and now I hope that she can see the success she truly deserves, she is a talented singer and now I hope the world can see that and her star shines brighter. Below is a link to that one awesome track, enjoy.

On a lighter note...

here's a classic throw back from the Spice Girls

SPICE GIRLS HOME

What kind of fuckery is this?

Recently I saw this on the Dlisted blog and paid it no mind but it did annoy me a little, now that I'm looking at it again I'm totally irritated by this level of ignorance that people have, wow. This is some straight up bullshit. I do like MK's comment [In the video, the kid is seen writhing on the floor as the pastor summons the "gay demon" out of him by shouting shit like, “Rip it from his throat! Come on, you homosexual demon! You homosexual spirit, we call you out right now! Loose your grip, Lucifer! Come out of his belly...It's in the belly - push.” ...Do these crazies really think they are going to get the "gay demon" out by shouting that dark-sided stuff at it? Stupid fucks! They have to tell it that it looks hot in skinny jeans. They have to bring it the AbFab box set. Woo it a little. But seriously....] .....The Fuck? Dlisted
a rather bleak situation, these people have no compassion and judge that someone who is gay has a demon? So I'm just shocked how many people persecute in the name of God, when God created us all equal despite our differences, churches aren't supposed to divide people but to bring everyone together.

My favorite flower; sunflowers

Sunflowers are truly beautiful flowers and are my all time favorite. I love sunflowers because they are just awesome and apparently rotate to follow the sun. Last night I went to an art gallery in Hartford with a couple of friends and the one painting that resonated with me the most was one of two wilted sunflowers. The painting is in my opinion a master piece and one I wouldn't mind owning. While I don't have a copy to post I'd still like to write about it on my blog and share some other pictures. Maybe one day when things are better I can buy it then, for $2000 or $300 you can get paintings at a discount if you compliment the artist enough (the artist offered me a reduced rate for stalking that one particular painting all event). If you are the artist reading and this I'm interested in the painting for when I get some money.

Whitney's new album

Whitney Houston has a new CD due in September and I'm anxiously anticipating it. Here is a picture of the album cover, and I'm hearing promising reviews. I think it's just a welcomed return since she has been out of the spotlight for sometime, hers is truly a majestic voice that has been missed. Can't wait!!!

R.I.P

This is a really shocking and truly sad event. Michael Jackson has done some amazing things in his lifetime from being an inspiration to millions of people and one of the greatest icons of our time. His humanitarian efforts have been unfairly overshadowed by scandal but in my opinion they far outweigh the bad press. I pray now he is at peace and in heaven happily.

Siobhán Donaghy

Siobhán Donaghy is a truly talented artist, so it is surprising to me that she didn't make much of an impact on the musical landscape over the course of her two solo albums. I personally love Siobhán's music it is ethereal like Madonna's Ray of Light album which I'm sure other's will probably make the same comparison and is a gem that deserved to be acknowledged more by the record buying public and mass media alike, oh well ya can't win 'em all.

Here is a great song from the album Ghosts - Halcyon Days.

There isn't much I can say about this tragedy that hasn't been already said. However my condolences go out to the family of this angel and I pray that she makes her way to heaven as is now at peace.

Karaoke King

So last night at scar-a-oke, I had a fun time with my friend from high school Ralfie. I'm not sure what happens to me whenever I go out to karaoke but it can easily be summed up in two words, mediocre and flat, and that's being honest about myself. I have fun nonetheless since I don't take it seriously, however last night after Ralfie wowed the crowds with his stellar voice I told him it was on and next week I'm bringing my game face so he better watch out cos' I'm bringin' it - which means not too many girl songs (albeit they are the most fun) and only songs I know the words to so that I wont look and feel like a shitty singer. I know karaoke is supposed to be lighthearted fun, but if I'm ever going to be considered a serious singer/musician I better up my game, that said - tune in next week for an update.

The search continues...

Being unemployed really sucks, cash-strapped and penniless is not my cup a tea, I keep praying and hoping that something will happen sooner or later because I'm at my wits end. Everyone I talk to is encouraging so that helps and I am very optimistic also. This brings to mind a song by Emiliana Torrini called Unemployed in Summertime from the album Love In The Time of Science Amazon.com: Love in the Time of Science: Emiliana Torrini: Music

Song of the Summer: Mariah Carey Dominates (Pun Intended!)

Below is a story from New York magazine on Mariah's latest number one...

It’s late, the weather’s nice (for the moment), and we’ve got big news so we’re just gonna lay it on you: Mariah Carey has snatched the No. 1 Song of the Summer spot from the Black Eyed Peas, whose “Boom Boom Pow” is officially overplayed out — and faces an enemy from within: “I Gotta Feeling,” by the Black Eyed Peas. Elsewhere, Cobra Starship and the Gossip burst the bounds of their respective genres to offer straight-up summer hotness, and Sean Kingston has us so ready to dance in front of the AC in our unmentionables.

Whether or not it’s about Eminem, as some maintain (and the lyrics don't say Marshall Mathers to us — more like Stan), Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” contains one of the all-time great put-downs: “You’re a mom-and-pop, I’m a corporation.” (And you know Wal-Mart haters are turned on.) If nothing else, Mariah’s an institution: Second only to the Beatles in No. 1 singles, she’s the closest thing this summer has to a dominant (pun intended) diva — Keri Hilson’s gonna touch her? Fergie? And, like the best summer tracks, this song’s a shape-shifter: it’s a slow jam, but with Gucci Mane on the remix; it’s sexy, but a dis track; it’s dark, but you’ll sing along. Spin us right round, Mariah, and feel free to do so all summer.

1. Mariah Carey, “Obsessed”: Congratulations to Mariah on the Power Rankings’ first-ever No. 1 debut. On a side note, another notch in Mariah’s impressive SOTS CV are her gritty choices in remix partners: following in the footsteps of O.D.B. and Jadakiss come Gucci Mane and the official “Obsessed” remix.

2. Tie: Black Eyed Peas, “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling”: Their new single — a calculatingly feel-good song about partying that sounds like Kelly Clarkson — has given them a 1-2 showing on the Hot 100. But will two dominant singles split the B.E.P vote?

3. Drake, “Best I Ever Had”: The Kanye-directed video for the song is coming shortly, meaning forays into the preteen after-school set might be imminent, as well.

4. Jeremih, “Birthday Sex”: Every day is another opportunity for someone to use “Birthday Sex” as the soundtrack to their … okay, you get it.

5. Keri Hilson feat. Kanye West and Ne-Yo, “Knock You Down”: Hilson proves we weren’t wrong to bring her back from SoS obscurity — after returning last week to the Rankings, she peaks at No. 3 on the Hot 100.

6. Sean Kingston, “Fire Burning”: Yes, it’s incredibly annoying. But so was “Beautiful Girls,” and, as we recall, things didn’t turn out so bad for that one.

7. The Gossip, “Heavy Cross”: Particularly strong season for the indie contenders — following in the footsteps of Japandroids, Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear is the Gossip, splashing down this week with their Rick Rubin–produced album Music for Men. Here’s the absolutely knockout first single.

8. Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain, “Blame It”: Continuing its ignominious slide, “Blame It” fell out of the Hot 100 top ten this week. Looking more and more like the summer’s first burnout.

9. Pitbull, “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)”: As the New York Times points out, Pitbull is right in the thick of radio hip-hop’s dance-music leanings.

10. Cobra Starship, “Good Girls Gone Bad”: The first of what will surely be a series of semi-novelty songs (this one features Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame) from the band behind “Snakes on a Plane (Bring It).”

My Dog!

Here is the most awesome dog in the universe (mainly because she's mine) but seriously she is a great dog. I am a lucky man. The doggie coat is especially priceless.

Wasting Food Sucks!

A new Government backed campaign that reveals we are throwing away a staggering third of the food we buy in the UK – most of which could have been eaten – was launched today. The astonishing statistic follows pioneering research undertaken earlier this year by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) which shows that for every three bags of shopping we bring home, we effectively put one straight in the bin...
Food Waste is Environmental Sleeping Giant Says WRAP (Read More)

This is a sentiment of mine, it's a pet peeve of mine actually. I don't personally like to waste food (I know it's something that will happen from time to time). There are so many starving people in the world, so it makes me feel guilty whenever I do. Check out the link above it's an interesting read.

Iran's Post-Election Violence

Recently with the election in Iran (and the alleged US involvement) there has been some turmoil and violence. Thinking of this is reminiscent of the political climate of Jamaica but not to this degree, it makes me really appreciative to live in a society with certain liberties, it's not as progressive as I'd like it to be but it's better than other places so I'm really grateful. In my mind I can't see the need for senseless violence, it is understood that for change sometimes you have to fight but this is ridiculous - I pray every day for a better world, with all idealism and hope I pray I see this in my lifetime.

The Fabulous Bruno

Sacha Baron Cohen is at it again, Borat was one of the funniest movies I'd ever seen and I can honestly say I'm curious to see this movie if it's anything like Borat then this should be a treat, the pictures of 'Bruno' at premieres and press releases seem promising, cheers!

Vampire Times

Recently I purchased the box set of the first season of HBO's True Blood, it wasn't at all what I was expecting, the show has a very interesting concept and it really is original. I guess the best part is the fact that there is so much parallel with today's society and the writers cleverly incorporates this in the writing, look out for the tabloid headline that says Angelina Jolie adopts vampire baby, it's somewhere in Jason's house in one of the earlier episodes. Season 2 recently premiered and I'll most likely wait for a box set before watching, I don't subscribe to HBO.

The Life

Recently I have heard several disturbing stories about intolerance towards gays, and while being gay isn't every one's cup of tea - it's something that isn't new, it exists and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. There are so many liberties that people take for granted here and while I still get stared down sometimes and the obligatory derogatory slur, I live relatively comfortably compared to some of my brothers and sisters in other parts of the world.
People still get beaten to death and being homosexual is a punishable act in some countries with a sentencing of lashes, prison sentencing or even death. It is a sad situation when young kids kill themselves rather than be tormented by constant scrutiny and ridicule, I wonder why with everything in the world people still judge others rather than try to understand and even learn about what it's like for someone else, being gay is not contagious. I pray that things will get better, since there are so many other pressing issues at hand.

Men's Underwear

While most guys wear boxers, I personally like having a variety. I love a pair of briefs that fit well and Calvin's usually do the trick. Recently I purchased a pair of Calvin Klein Steel hip briefs and I have yet to try them on, I'm waiting for a special occasion and while that sounds lame, these drawers set me back $15 plus shipping. My question (in rhetoric) is why do most men's underwear seem plain and boring or totally outlandish? I like having options and it seems like women's under garments have an unparalleled industry, from practicality to classic sex appeal the girls are having more fun by a mile. In recent years the market for men's apparel seems to be rivaling that of it's female counterpart due in part to the rise of the metro sexual or the style conscious man, but at the forefront is the truly fabulous, so to all my boyfriends out there cheers honey and go get you a fresh pair (pun intended).

Obsessed

The new Mariah Carey single has arrived. I like it, I'm thinking this one is a grower until there is a video, I'm not too keen on the cover art but whatever, you can go over to Mimi's website to check out the track now, I'm sure eventually it will be everywhere so you can wait and hear it when it's everywhere played out. Maybe this could be a record-breaking 19th number one single? fingers crossed Mimi fans or lambs -ha

Ricky Martin

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love Ricky Martin, the first time I saw him was when he performed on the Grammy Awards years ago. I was captivated, needless to say. The reason for this post is that recently in the spanish media Ricky made a generalized statement about his sexuality and while orientation in this day and age is not much of a big deal. I was surprised that people even still care, I've always thought he was on the pink team anyway but never really cared, kinda like when George Michael came out. I don't think he has to come out and that's my two-pennies right there, I just want him to make a comeback with a great Spanglish single.

The First Post (Again)

Well, I'm back to blogging and this is the premiere post, for this blog anyway. I am not sure what the concept of this blog will be but I'm very optimistic. The first blog, which for some reason I can't seem to re-use that name, was very fun, however this new blog will hopefully be a little different but still fun.
I guess I'll begin by telling you a little about myself. I am a man, I love art and music and hopefully I can begin creating some of my own, which I will no doubt share on here. It's been a few years for me since I last posted on a blog and I'm kinda glad I'm back at it. So here goes nothing(again)...
Cheers!
