Veronica travels...

Like I mentioned earlier my favorite from the Archie series was Ms. Lodge here are a few covers from her series, many of these I had, with the exception of Paris, India, Mexico and Rome, my favorite was when fan's would write in to requests for Veronica to visit their home country and location of her next destination at the bottom of the letter's page. I never wrote in, but it made me feel as part of a larger community of people all over the world who read these comic books. "Veronica in" was my favorite Archie series, since I got to go on these trips with Veronica and see these fascinating new countries I could never go to, the artists would always incorporate factual events and customs as well as famous landmarks to the storytelling, unfortunatly they only went up to nineteen locations, as I suppose there are only so many places you can go to before you start to have too much redundancy, I always hoped she would have visited Jamaica but it never happened. I believe the publisher's over at Archie are releasing a collected graphic novel of the trips called Veronica's passport, which is similar to a Veronica digest from the early to mid-nineties, hopefully the include the cover art, the fan fashion can take a hike, but it would be nice if all the trips were collected in one book instead of volumes. I included Kevin's upcoming comic to the mix again since there is missing slot and why not? he's too fab! click on link to purchase back issues Veronica back issues

When I was a kid...

Archie comics used to be one of my favorites growing up. The characters were a constant source of inspiration, especially Veronica Lodge, which led to me developing similar characters of my own(P.K.A. which I will re-vamp later this year and hopefully share on here). Veronica Lodge was the quintessential it-girl of Riverdale and long before the Lindsays and Paris Hiltons she was up to socialite mischief while jet-setting to exotic locations across the globe (, which is why I've had an affinity for ms. Lodge, daddy's poor little rich girl. I think everyone has a little Veronica in them, I love how she would always steal Archie away from Betty just for fun, when everybody knows she was most likely more compatible with Reggie, and let's not even get started on Jughead, who I've always suspected of playing on the other team. Recently the publication has been keeping up with the times, writing about our nation's first African-American President and including new gay character to the lineup, I'm not sure if it was a publicity stunt or if this new character will be a permanent fixture, but I'm happy to see a childhood favorite changing with the times.

A Four Letter Word theatrical Trailer

Last night in all my fun I managed to watch two movies, one I just received from Amazon marketplace, which I've seen already but wanted to own, it's totally funny and just silly. The second I borrowed from the library and the animation and story just blew me away, I usually expect animated movies of this caliber from Disney it's nice to see some other studios have their game face on and is bringing top line animation to the masses. So first movie is A Four letter word which is just a big gay mess, one of the bonuses is the song by singer Adam Joseph I recommend renting this movie or owning it for a guilty pleasure or to bone up on your pink cinema.

The Secret of Kells was nominated for an Oscar for best animated picture, I don't think it won but it should have, I don't know what it was up against but I'm biased, the story is a mixture of fantasy and Irish folklore, but the charm is in the Irish Brogue of the characters and the originality of the animation. I love this picture and may even buy it someday, Tomm Moore the creator of this has a new pic coming up called Song of the Sea, which I'll be sure to check out, from the trailer it looks like a story based on Selkie folklore but could be other Irish mythology just as well.

With my registration complete and most of my books purchased, I'm looking to start classes in about a week, I'm somewhat excited and a little bit nervous but I'm optimistic, all I need now is one more book and my camera. Excited!

Marsha Ambrosius Far Away

This video tackles gay bashing and peer pressure suicide and this former member of Floetry deals with the sensistive subject from a perspective of experience, the song is decent and the video is interesting.
