Mariah Carey is coming out with another seasonal album, and it's scheduled for release November 2, it will have traditional songs and a few original recordings, included is Mimi's now classic recording All I Want For Christmas Is You, revisited for this album released on Def Jam/Island. Can't wait!

Rejoice a couple of new tracks!!!

I'm slowly contemplating world domination with my awesome pop songs, in all honesty I'd love to make songs that could be considered really awesome, but in the meantime I'm stuck making home-made demos of tracks I create on my computer and while I've heard worse (from professional artists no less) I have to say, in my opinion; these aren't all that bad. Here are a couple of new recordings that I made this month one of which is liked by my dear ole' sis Leelee.

With a career spanning twenty-odd years Kylie Minogue is an iconoclast that rivals Madonna, or is at least compared to the big M on more occasions than most, however Kylie is definitely a different kind of pop star, while Madonna is a blatant force, Kylie is gentler more subdued entertainer that is somewhat sweetly lighter and just as satisfying. What I love the most about Kylie is the fact that everything about her is pure pop and doesn't have the pretense of anything else (albeit Impossible Princess did vie for credibility with the indie crowd). That said, I realised I had not properly given my review of the the new record 'Aphrodite', so essentially that is what this post is about. From start to finish this album plays like 'Fever', there are no ballads, I repeat, THERE ARE NO BALLADS. This makes for a solid album from start to finish, the music works and Minogue knows what is a good fit for her voice so the album is effortlessly charming from start to finish. Hopefully with this project the audio-visual elements will compliment the project the way all her albums with Parlaphone have done to date (I wont even include X here, which seemed like a mash-up of every Kylie look and sound, and in my opinion not her strongest project). So what else can I say about the album that probably hasn't been said? I love it! It's mature, it's Kylie at her best. My favorite track hands down is Looking For An Angel. Go get a copy if you love unabashedly fun pop, I would say Gay, but that's a given when it comes to Kylie, even though anyone can appreciate this. Kylie Minogue Aphrodite

The Beach

Summer is winding down and I was so worried that I wouldn't get to go to the beach this year. Luckily for me I have a couple of awesome friends who are the bestest and we went to the beach and then had a mini-cookout. Hammonasset beach is a really fun place to spend a hot summer day or go for a weekend camping trip since it is both, there are camp grounds and a wide stretch of beach area, and thanks to Em and Cristy last weekend was a nice departure from the ho-hum of the city. Kudos.

A few weekends ago I went with my family to an amusement park, it was all fun and good however the main attraction for me was a roller coaster that is wooden and constructed in the mountainside the infamous Boulder Dash, what makes this roller coaster so awesome is the fact that it is high speed and it's not one that has a lot of high drops, just the fast exhilaration of the ride and the scenery around since it's all mountainside and trees. The park on a whole is cool it has the usual theme park fare and is good for a day out with the family. I'll definitely be going back there. I had a blast!
